Job Description The employee will perform a wide variety of tasks including maintaining records of purchases, pricing, and other important data, reviewing and analyzing all vendor and pricing options, maintain/update all vendor files, maintain agency credit card program to include employee training on agency credit card policies and procedures. Review all purchase requests for appropriate procurement method and documentation, and work with procurement manager to complete all other duties as needed.
General Description of Duties Tasks : Generate financial reports; review expenditures; ensure compliance with audit samples; support related entities; assure adequate control of agency assets; complete assignments as directed; maintain work areas; report identified or potential safety, maintenance, or non-compliance issues; complete, update, submit required reports/documents/forms; provide back-up within the bureau; assist and organize bids for contracts/services/ equipment/supplies; maintain vendor files; generate reports; receive, route, and disperse telephone calls/messages; compose and type correspondence, reports, and other materials; maintain confidential files; maintain and update files/reports/documentation; organize and assemble requested information; scanning of documents; completes special projects; maintain record of equipment; conduct annual department wide property inventory; conduct research for equipment procurement; process purchase orders for office supplies; issue bid requests; review of contracts; maintain inventory records; process vendor invoices/expenditure reports; and train new staff or volunteers.
Minimum Requirements - Associate degree and 2 years experience OR
- 4 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and office equipment to perform position tasks
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office requires all employees to have either an associates degree, 60 equivalent hours from an accredited college or university or the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test measures verbal and quantitative skills. Sworn *Law Enforcement and Corrections Deputies must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 267 and Quantitative - 241. Civilians must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 248 and Quantitative - 241.
*Law Enforcement Deputies/Recruits must meet additional requirements to qualify.
Local institution to administer the Wonderlic: Suncoast Technical College 941-924-1365 ext. 62322. Fee $40 Hours of Operations: Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 3:00pm Friday 7:30am to 2:00pm. TESTING IS SCHEDULED BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
