Location of Employment: 28th Judicial District, Salina, KS Position Title and Salary : Behavioral Health Court Coordinator, grade 40 $64,476.05 annually Job Type: Full Time Grant Funded Position (2 ½ years) Employment Status: Confidential Employee Kansas Judicial Branch Benefits State Employment Center – Benefits (ks.gov) (https://admin.ks.gov/services/state-employment-center/benefits) Job Duties: The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: mental health, substance abuse, specialty courts, or probation (including field supervision). This includes providing advocacy, referral services, intervention and expert testimony. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and writing skills, an understanding of the legal system and the ability to develop meaningful relationships with specialty court clients, service providers, judges, attorneys, court staff and correctional staff. Example of Duties:
+ Act as a liaison between individuals, courts, attorneys, federal agencies, local entities, and service providers
+ Seek program funding and complete grant applications and quarterly reports in a timely manner
+ Monitor compliance with grant and community funding requirements
+ Acquire knowledge of how to utilize and access community resources
+ Assist individuals in gathering needed documentation
+ Support individuals enrolled in Behavioral Health Court and Veterans Court
+ Assist in crisis and emergency situations
+ Refer individuals to needed services
+ Advocate for client rights and interests
+ Provide input to local mental health, addiction providers, law enforcement, judges, and specialty court staff, generally
+ Provide testimony
+ Work and provide input in a team setting
+ Develop documentation and keep accurate records of interactions for data collection
+ Be a resource for others
+ Monitor and screen specialty court clients, organize and assign dockets, court participants, and provide/coordinate drug screens.
+ Other duties as assigned and acquired
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Licensed practitioner with experience in mental health and/or criminal justice and a degree in Social Science, Criminal Justice, or another related field. Experience with grants such as grant applications, quarterly reports and developing written policies and procedures.
