Job Title: Assembly and Repair Technician
Shift: Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assembly and Repair Technician to join our Production team. This position is responsible for performing overhauls and repairs on various mechanical assemblies, including brakes, couplers, compressors, and related systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision assembly, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble mechanical and electrical equipment that does not pass testing
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on assembly and testing equipment
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other machinery
• Move materials to and from workstations using hand, cart, and overhead crane
• Inspect and test completed units for functionality and quality
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and routing instructions
• Accurately tag and mark parts with identifying information
• Apply grease and lubricants to parts as required
• Grind or adjust parts to achieve proper fit and function
• Identify and correct flaws or imperfections in components
• Assemble subassemblies and complete units
• Install and fasten cables, wiring, and components
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify tolerances and dimensions
• Bond components using adhesives and ensure proper curing
• Perform basic mathematical calculations
• Follow all company safety procedures and housekeeping standards
• Assist with other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience Requirements • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Proven experience with mechanical component precision assembly
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Proficiency in reading fabrication and assembly blueprints
• Familiarity with technical manuals and work instructions
• Competency with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
• Ability to perform basic math and measurement conversions
• Comfort working with electrical systems is a plus
• Willingness to work in both final and sub-assembly operations
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Team-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Physical and Mental Requirements Physical Demands:
• Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear throughout the shift
• Regular use of hands for handling tools, objects, and controls
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; occasional climbing, kneeling, stooping, or crawling
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment:
• Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, assembly operations, cranes, and forklift traffic
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
Mental Demands:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents, analyze problems, and apply solutions
• Strong observational skills and mathematical reasoning
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly
• Collaboration with colleagues, customers, and vendors as needed
Pay Details: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
