JOB SUMMARY:
To support an increasing case management workload in technology transfer requiring expertise in contract management and review and a general understanding of intellectual property. Other duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES:
25% - Essential - Manage the CURF database and oversee integrity of data entered into the CURF database; Ensure timely evaluation of new inventions by gathering/preparing all necessary materials associated with new innovation disclosures, scheduling innovation disclosure review meetings, documenting discussions and decisions, and recording commercialization decisions in office database management system.
25% - Essential - Review, identify, and document obligations in sponsored research agreements, center and institute membership agreements, or any other contract associated with a new innovation disclosure that may impact ability to commercialize the intellectual property.
25% - Essential - Assist in coordinating the filing and prosecution of intellectual property with approved CURF legal firms; Coordinate communication of the outcomes of invention review meetings, including correspondence with outside legal counsel and University inventors, and assist with federal and university compliance issues related to technology transfer, including, but not limited to, reporting to federal agencies via the I-Edison portal.
25% - Essential - Assist with other CURF operational efforts including, but not limited to the following: monitoring financial aspects related to legal invoicing, royalty distribution, and other operational budgets; provide general information about CURF's technology transfer efforts; provide direct administrative support for CURF leadership to carry out daily responsibilities and special projects; support for on-campus and off-campus events; coordinate with other Clemson departments as necessary on tasks realted to all other job duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certification
Work Exp 2+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education Area - Administrative, Legal, Intellectual Property
Work Experience - legal, database management, administrative operations, government contracting
Licenses & Certifications - Paralegal
RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
5% - Overnight Travel

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($43,777.00 - $65,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
