As the first point of contact for Human Resources (HR), you have the opportunity to expertly serve our 2,300 internal and various external customers via phone, email, and walk-in traffic. Answer questions and elevate the employee experience utilizing the HR Procedures and Guidelines, policies, and collective bargaining contracts in addition to other resources. As the HR Assistant you'll:
• Interpret and apply HR principles, policies, and practices via incoming calls, emails, and walk-in traffic of employees, managers, and the public.
• Research and compile data.
• Process Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Income Verifications.
• Complete verbal employment verifications for loans, housing, etc.
• Process Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Income Verifications.
In this role, you'll also:
• Use your expertise to source candidates from various databases and support the recruitment team in building eye-catching job postings.
• Source candidates from various databases.
• Process Veteran’s Preference.
• Perform employment verifications, professional references and public records requests for onboarding employees.
• Coordinate internal and external recruiting events.
• Represent Sarasota County at various job fairs and community events.
• Curate County accolades, current projects and future impact to include in recruitment efforts.
Work Hours: Standard hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional early evenings or weekends, and the ability to flex your time.
About You
Minimum Qualifications :
• Associate’s degree with three (3) years of experience.
• OR – Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience.
• OR – Five (5) years of related experience in Human Resources, customer service, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Speak, write, transcribe, and translate in Spanish.
• SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $25.70 - $27.50 per hour, based on your experience.
