Do you have a strong background in understanding industrial energy and water efficiency? In this role, you oversee the energy management for over 1400 electrical accounts in coordination with multiple county departments. • Manage county-wide electrical and water utility programs.
• Responsible for planning, managing, and improving Sarasota County's energy efficiencies across all types of resources.
• Design and manage digital solutions for County Departments for productivity graphical/analytic tools.
• Solve multiple technical problems, coordinate action, and provide solutions to various IT requirements.
• Prepare and present analytical reports to the Executive Team, Administration, Departments, and External Agencies in response to inquiries.
• Expertise in analyzing complex utility data (electric and water) across 2,000+ accounts to support county-wide energy efficiency initiatives.
• Skilled in developing, interpreting, and presenting analytical reports for executive leadership, internal departments, and external agencies.
• Perform research, identify, and troubleshoot incoming electronic data interchange (EDI) from Florida Power & Light.
• Proven track record in training and mentoring staff on data-driven energy management practices, including usage trends and conservation strategies.
• Experienced in monitoring and forecasting program budgets (e.g., $11.5M annual FPL usage) to support fiscal planning and resource optimization.
• County LEED Coordinator responsible for gathering and interpreting energy data and submitting it to the regulatory body for all qualified county facilities.
Work Hours : Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related fields AND two (2) years of related energy and/or sustainability management/coordination experience.
• -OR- Six (6) years of professional job-related experience can be substituted at management discretion for the required education.
• Posses the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credentials or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the time of hire.
• A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications :
• Posses the Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Essential Archibus database knowledge, and Planning tools (MS Project, eBuilder, Smartsheet) or similar Facilities Management Software.
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Facility Management Program (CAFM). Archibus CAFM system. Microsoft Power BI Platform experience.
• Understands and can calculate building energy consumption profiles.
• Detailed knowledge of building systems, industrial processes, energy and water efficiency projects, and industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings.
CJIS Clearance: **The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
