Job Details Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Network Operations Center Technician in Annapolis, MD. This role is crucial for contributing to the Tier 2 CAS Network Operations Center, primarily responsible for incident management of customers within the CAS Operational environment.
Responsibilities:
Engage telecom providers to drive restoration efforts and monitor network management systems.
Keep incident details updated in the incident management tool, ensuring the information is accurate.
Use your technical knowledge to oversee high availability IP networks, messaging systems, and Air to Ground data communications equipment and systems.
Solve system and network problems/questions with limited scope and complexity.
Identify resolutions for routine technical queries from Collins Aerospace CAS customers and CAS Business Units.
Work alongside Senior Team Members to resolve moderate to complex issues; you may take the lead role in resolving less complex issues.
Use discretion to interpret and apply established processes, understanding that errors could cause prolonged or wider spread failures.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, and escalate network issues as necessary.
Understand deployment configuration and maintenance routines, developing tools to make the process more efficient.
Participate in network solutions design and configurations.
Analyze issues and provide customers with guidance to resolve problems.
Remember, this role may require you to work some weekends and holidays, as this is a 24 x 7 365 Operation Center.
Requirements
Must possess excellent Customer Service skills, demonstrating an ability to respond to customer queries effectively.
Strong Communication skills are required, ensuring clear and concise information exchange within and outside the business unit.
Should be able to provide Training on various tech-related topics and design effective learning programs.
Proficiency in Design and Troubleshoot skills, with the ability to quickly resolve network issues.
Knowledge of Networks and relevant Practices is essential, including understanding of IP Protocol and Cisco Technologies.
Must be able to handle and resolve customer Queries promptly and professionally.
Experience in Configuration Management, including network protocols and deployments, is required.
Must have the ability to conduct Cost Analysis in relation to IT projects and services.
Familiarity with Business Unit operations and dynamics is a plus.
Must have a solid understanding of Computer Hardware and Telecom systems.
Language Interpretation skills will be an added advantage, aiding in communication with diverse customer base.
Experience with Servicenow Application and Remedy software is preferred.
Must have the ability to diagnose and improve System Performance.
Network+ certification or similar certification in the field of networking is preferred.
Knowledge or experience in the Aerospace industry is a plus.
