The superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all day to day jobsite activities from project start up to close out. EXPERIENCE Required: Two (2) or more years as an Assistant Superintendent and three (3) or more years as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or Trade Foreman of an equivalent construction operation. Preferred: Five (5) or more years of experience as a Superintendent of an equivalent facility construction operation. WORK LOCATION: Sarasota SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Proficient in use of company software and in personal computer applications including Microsoft Office, Windows, and construction industry related software. Experience with Procore Project Management Software beneficial. Ability to enforce jobsite rules. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project cost reporting per company procedures. Familiarity with industry terminology and concepts. Broad knowledge of construction means and methods. Excellent knowledge of the company’s industry and trends impacting its business Knowledge and ability to interpret building codes and ordinances. Must have knowledge of structural applications. Advanced understanding of blue print reading. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, legal documents, and industry/trade magazines. Ability to visualize all finish products/systems, as intended by the blue prints, and plan coordination measures to curb potential change orders, down time associated with information request, design omissions, etc. Thorough working knowledge of all phases of a construction project from start to finish (i.e., site work, utilities, foundations structure, framing, exterior envelope, roofing, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, finishes). Effectively conduct the Overall Project Schedule Meeting, Foreman’s Meetings (weekly), Near Term Scheduling Meetings (bi-weekly), and Safety Tool-Box Meetings (weekly). Ability to compose bar chart project schedules producing efficient flow of work for all trades. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. Must have communication skills that will enable response to common inquiries or complaints from customers and/or others as well as ability to effectively present information to superiors. Ability to manage pre-construction activities. Review and understand the material status log/submittal log to ensure the materials are delivered to meet the current schedule. Maintain up-to-date insurance certificates for job related subcontractors. Must have the knowledge and ability to control costs within his/her particular responsibility area within a given project. Ability to effectively represent the company at meetings and presentations. Ability to manage and effectively delegate responsibilities to WHGC field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, etc. Ability to manage activities of project staff to ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing. Assure project activities are performed in accordance with WHGC policy and procedures. Assure project activities are performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, code, and authorities having jurisdiction. Ability to maintain industry safety procedures and standards.
