Job Summary The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations within the facility, ensuring that cleanliness and hygiene standards are met and maintained. This leadership role requires a strong background in hospitality and housekeeping management, as well as the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional supervisory skills and a commitment to providing outstanding service to guests while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Duties Supervise and lead the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service are upheld throughout the facility. Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Manage daily operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations of staff. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and special requests. Oversee inventory management for cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Address guest complaints or concerns regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally. Stay updated on industry trends in hospitality and commercial cleaning practices to continuously improve service delivery. Qualifications Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry, particularly in hotel or commercial cleaning settings. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Knowledge of housekeeping management practices, custodial operations, and safety regulations. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards. Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels as well as with guests. Proficiency in managing laundry operations and understanding laundering processes is preferred. A commitment to providing exceptional service while fostering a positive work environment for staff.
