Summary
The Fiberglass Laminator Technician, using various hand tools, is responsible for utilizing open mold methods to perform the lamination process in building fiberglass parts. He/She performs elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surfaces.
Responsibilities
• Perform wet layup and pre-preg composite fabrication processes to produce high-quality parts.
• Prepare and apply resins, fibers, and core materials while ensuring proper material placement.
• Form fiberglass into a mold and remove air voids
• Use small hand tools to include scissors, razor knife etc.
• Lightly sand and grind parts when necessary
• Handle vacuum bagging, curing, and de-molding processes.
• Monitor curing cycles and adjust as necessary to achieve optimal results
• Laminates layers of fiberglass on molds to form small parts
• Utilization of open mold processes
• Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to fabricate and assemble components
• Inspect finished products for quality and ensure they meet specifications
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
• Utilize hand and power tools for precise assembly of materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Clean tables, floors, and hand tools on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned by Tooling Manager
Experience
• Fiberglass/lamination open mold experience
• Ability to read blueprints, mylars, customer-supplied data
• Ability to use cutting tools and measuring devices
• A plus:
• boat, aviation, or automotive exp.
• ERP/Invoice software exp.
Communication Skills
Must speak, read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

• Respirator when needed
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm. Monday through Friday. Onsite only.
PAY: $20-21 an hour dependent upon experience
Background and Drug test required.
