In this role, you will provide essential physical therapy services to elderly residents, helping them maintain or regain their mobility, independence, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive assessments of residents’ physical abilities, including mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident’s needs and goals. Provide hands-on therapy treatments, including manual therapy, exercise regimens, and assistive devices as appropriate. Educate residents, families, and staff about effective therapy techniques, injury prevention, and the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to resident care. Ensure that all therapy interventions comply with regulatory requirements and best practice standards. Provide education and training to nursing home staff to promote safe mobility and care practices for residents. Qualifications: Degree in Physical Therapy (Doctor of Physical Therapy or equivalent). Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (or the ability to obtain). Experience working with geriatric populations, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care setting. Strong knowledge of age-related physical changes and common conditions in older adults (e.g., arthritis, osteoporosis, stroke recovery). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with elderly patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
