Employment Type:Part timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:The PACU nurse will be responsible for phase I recovery of patients after anesthesia.PACU Nurse (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse) Responsibilities & DutiesMonitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness post-surgeryAdminister medications for pain management and other post-operative careAssess patients for signs of post-operative complications and intervene as necessaryProvide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recoveryCollaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionalsDocument patient status, treatments, and clinical findings accuratelyPrepare patients for discharge once they meet the required criteriaImplement infection control measuresAssist with patient transfers to appropriate care unitsRespond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventionsMaintain a clean and safe environment in the PACUProvide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their familiesOperate and monitor medical equipment used in post-operative careEnsure proper patient identification and maintain patient confidentialityParticipate in continuous education and training to stay updated with best practicesOur Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
