Basic Job Functions:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment using SolidWorks or related software. This role ensures that all manufacturing equipment is safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design and develop manufacturing equipment and processes using SolidWorks.
• Conduct safety assessments and ensure all equipment meets safety regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes and equipment designs.
• Train and support production staff in the proper use and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Compensation Data:
Starting annual salary range: $99,673.60 - $121,139.20
Additional Compensation Information:
Vulcraft of New York offers an annual Return on Asset Bonus, with a potential range of up to 33%, with a 10 year average of 18.46%. Additionally, Nucor Corporation provides all teammates with an annual Profit-sharing bonus, which has a 10 year average of 15.29%.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related field.
• Prior experience with designing manufacturing equipment using Solidworks or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Certification in SolidWorks or related software.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Several years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving equipment design and process optimization.
• Experience managing projects, including timelines, budgets, and team coordination.
