Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for landscape design? Do you love transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful, functional environments that bring people joy? Troy’s Tropics is looking for a Landscape Designer to join our team and help us create stunning outdoor living spaces across Sarasota and beyond.
From private backyards to full-scale commercial projects—including homeowner associations and condo communities—we design and install full outdoor environments: pavers, patios, pergolas, tropical plantings, lighting, water features, and even interior greenery. Every space is a custom canvas, and we treat every client like our only client.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate directly with residential and commercial clients to develop custom outdoor design concepts
• Use design software like Visterra to create plans and visual presentations
• Recommend plant selections, hardscape materials, and layout solutions tailored to Florida’s environment
• Conduct site assessments and measurements to inform your designs
• Prepare detailed proposals, estimates, and timelines
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and our installation team to ensure smooth project delivery
• Stay current with design trends and Florida-friendly, sustainable practices
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in landscape design or a related field (residential or commercial)
• Proficiency with design software (Visterra, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
• Strong plant knowledge, especially suited to tropical and subtropical climates
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Bonus: familiarity with permitting, HOA guidelines, or project management experience
