Patient Registration
Job Summary
This leader has accountability and oversight, and supervises the daily activities of the department, shift or area. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Require an Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field or relevant experience in Registration, Billing and/or Upfront Collections can substitute for a year-for year basis for the required degree.
- Require a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Registration, Billing, and/or Upfront Collections.
- Require Certified Health Access Manager (CHAM) certification from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM). Must be obtained within one year of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer previous supervisory/managerial experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Prefer thorough knowledge of insurance rules and regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and commercial Insurance.
- Prefer strong leadership skills and understanding of group processes, teamwork and site/cost-center based Management.
- Prefer demonstrated skills and experience in the usage of database, word processing, and other commonly used computer applications.
- Prefer strong communication skills and the ability to handle difficult customers or situations.
- Prefer the ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving expertise.
- Prefer the ability to multi-task and work under stress in a fast-pace environment.
- Prefer the ability to be flexible with schedule in a 24/7 environment.
