We can count on you to: Provide testing support for the Piedmont manufacturing facilities, Product Development, and the Rock Hill manufacturing facilities as needed (raw materials, non-routine testing, etc.). Test and/or approve all incoming raw materials for Piedmont and Rock Hill plants. Troubleshoot test equipment problems/identify root cause/corrective actions with and without assistance. Utilize SPC to analyze control sample data and aid in troubleshooting testing problems to ensure accuracy of test results. Adhere to and understand established Fibers Test Methods and Standard Operating Procedures when performing tests/tasks unless authorized by Quality Manager or designee. Performs test using appropriate equipment such as tensile testing equipment, gas chromatography, Accelerated Solvent Extractor (ASE) and other miscellaneous test equipment. Notify appropriate personnel whenever testing issues occur which prevent internal customers from receiving their data in a timely manner (Lab Technical Support, QA Manager, manufacturing personnel). Acquire training as needed to support testing needs for plant (LIMS, SAP, new/revised test methods, new lab equipment, upgrade of lab skills, etc.). Maintain lab equipment by performing identified preventative maintenance, calibrations, and cleaning of equipment. Assures documentation is accurate and up-to-date (equipment logs, test worksheets, LIMS, etc.). Perform weekly calibrations of test equipment (spectrophotometers, balances). Safely and effectively performs the essential functions of the position to test the quality of aerospace grade carbon fiber manufactured at CCF, while continuously improving the process of creating it. Possesses and can effectively utilize the appropriate level of mechanical and industrial aptitude, and computer literacy. Contributes to continuous improvement of safety, quality and productivity. Has the ability to learn work skills and processes quickly - Can apply knowledge consistently for repeatable and reliable results. Is flexible / adaptable – Can work in multiple areas on multiple teams including production and non-production areas. Must be able to stand and walk while working on a concrete floor 75% of the time Must to able to carry, lift, transport and position material weighing a maximum of 55lbs Must be able to push or pull equipment/material weighing up to 150 lbs Must be able to climb stairs, ladders or balance to ascend, descend and traverse stairs and work platforms to perform work duties Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or position self to maintain and position material used in production Must be able to see to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate and assess quality of product produced in production to meet quality standards You will get: Competitive salary and benefits package The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $25/hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
