Job Summary: The Shift Supervisor is responsible for all operational aspects associated with the collection of revenue on the toll plaza and ramps during the assigned shift, including direction of Toll Collectors. Responsibilities: Manage employees’ activities including all aspects of money handling, traffic, customer service and personnel. Develop and post schedules for toll collectors. Train, direct, motivate, evaluate, counsel and develop staff. Inspect toll equipment, facilities and provide electronic or verbal notification of maintenance or repairs needs. Perform vault removals and maintain correct vault inventory. Must be physically able to pull, lift, and replace 16 or more coin vaults on a daily basis. Complete and maintain electronic reports such as Shift Management, Incident, Surplus Funds, etc. Manage traffic control and lane closures. Perform and document security and facilities inspections. Collect tolls, issue receipts, and ensure quality customer service to maintain minimal traffic backup and provide relief breaks for toll collectors. Conduct monthly emergency, safety, and other training drills and other training courses as directed. Must be responsible for immediately reimbursing the shift safe should a shortage occur. Notify emergency responders of vehicle, customer, traffic or other emergencies. Escort and supervise when necessary contractors working on the toll road. Requirements: Proficiency using MSWord, Excel and Outlook, the ability to generate emails and to prepare electronic reports. Management experience, preferably in cash handling and customer service. Must be a proven customer service professional. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Must have a valid South Carolina motor vehicle license and good DMV record. Ability to resolve disputes between toll collectors and customers while maintaining a positive image of customer service and efficiency. Ability to assess a situation quickly, establish priorities and perform multiple tasks. Ability to take effective action in emergencies, often without guidance. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (up to 16 times per shift) on a consistent basis. Required to pass written test using a computer and/or oral test(s) prior to being hired. Ability to work shifts that involve evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employment references, drug test, credit check, criminal and DMV background checks conducted. Shift Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 am – 2:00 pm Pay Rate: $15/Hour
