POSITION SUMMARY The Greenville, SC office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts for industrial manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing conceptual and detailed design documents, leading teams, working directly with owners, and supporting construction and field operations as required. Prior experience with specialty chemical, non-wovens, films & fibers, and/or wood products manufacturing is essential. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Process Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for sizing and specifying specialty process equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. They may also assist clients with procurement and installation of these systems and equipment, including but not limited to: pneumatic conveying mechanical conveying pressure vessels atmospheric tanks heat exchangers pumps reactors relief valves REQUIRED CAPABILITIES Experience developing construction drawings using AutoCAD/REVIT, and Navisworks. Ability to work with a diverse team of design & construction professionals. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture. Experienced, self-directed professional. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations. Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines. Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). WORKING CONDITIONS In general, performance of the job has the Process Mechanical Engineer operating from an office location vs a project location so to oversee one or more projects at one time. The Process Mechanical Engineer will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions. This role may require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project requirements. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with active PE registration (SC preferred), as well as 10+ years of relevant design experience. Candidates must have professional writing, presentation, and communication skills, and the ability to develop client relationships.
