Job Summary Forklift Drivers safely operate forklifts in support of various production lines and the shipping and receiving department to move raw material, work in progress, finished goods, scrap hoppers, purchased components, and packaging material to designated staging areas. Employees must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed. . Key Responsibilities of Material Handler Moves materials in and out of storage locations. Utilizes and supports kanban inventory card systems (Heijunka). Responsible for ensuring first-in, first-out issuing of materials from storage. Maintains an optimum level of order and cleanliness in work areas. Employees may be required to perform other miscellaneous duties at the request of the Group leader. Works with PICS to resolve any fallout to ensure accuracy and prevent future errors. Verifies, counts, labels, processes necessary computerized transactions, and moves items to appropriate location. Checks finished parts, in raw and in process goods to assure proper labeling procedures and stacking methods are followed before placing in assigned storage area. Must be flexible with shift start/stop times if necessary to ensure adequate materials are available for the next shift run. All other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Demonstrated good interpersonal skills to work in a team environment to accomplish tasks through positive interaction with others Must be able to obtain a Fork truck license. High School Diploma or GED. High degree of accuracy required to complete work processes and tasks Strong organizational skills. Able to work with minimal supervision. Team player with good verbal and written communication skills. · A proven record of dependability is required. Must be able to use all job-related equipment including label printers, PC's, RF's and forklifts. (2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ON REACH/STANDUP TRUCK IN THE PAST 5 YEARS) Must be able to set and maintain work priorities to meet ongoing production needs. Good physical condition and dexterity; lifting approximately 30 – 60 pounds.
