HMSHost 6905 Rockledge Drive Bethesda, MD 20817 Purpose: The Director of Landlord Reporting is responsible for all accounting-based reporting to landlords relating to leases and construction costs for F&B and Retail lines of business. Essential Functions: Directs the landlord reporting function within the North America Corporate Accounting Department Maintains, develops, and implements accounting and reporting processes to ensure the integrity of financial reports to landlords Coordinates external audits with Deloitte for all leases, which totals 350 audits for combined F&B and Retail segments Reviews and approves landlord reports relating to construction costs and leases; ensures compliance with contractual terms and reporting requirements Serves as the primary accounting resource for construction reporting related matters and interfaces with Construction Project Directors Coordinates audits performed by landlords on an as requested basis Prepares budgets related to external audit costs Identifies continuous departmental process improvement and implements solutions Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Senior Director of Asset Management Major Interdependencies: Business Development, Design & Construction, Legal Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 8 years: In a leadership role: Requires 3 years of experience leading a team of accounting professionals In a technical role: Requires 8 years of experience engaged in developing and delivering lease accounting programs A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field can count for 3 of the eight-year requirement An MBA or a master’s level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for an additional 2 years of the eight-year requirement In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience Experience with lease audit and construction accounting preferred Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing priorities; excellent problem-solving skills Strong financial acumen, including the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and financial models Advanced Microsoft Office skills Advanced business acumen and also has the strategic mindset required to understand the long-term implications of accounting decisions and to advance the organization’s goals Demonstrated history of anticipating the needs of the business and complex stakeholders, the employee population, and individual circumstances Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals Demonstrated experience exhibiting a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to optimize work processes and achieve positive results Location: This position is located at the F&B Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD
