Commercial HVAC Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to join our growing team of skilled tradesmen. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
·        Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), heat pumps, air handlers and unit heaters. Experience with chillers, boilers, and VRF/VRV systems a plus
·        Perform diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC components, including electrical and mechanical systems.
·        Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and energy efficiency.
·        Read and interpret engineered blueprints, architectural drawings technical manuals, and schematics to execute commercial/industrial installations.
·        Assist Estimators with mechanical take-offs as needed.
·        Experience sizing and installing gas lines for RTU and unit heaters.
·        Provide recommendations to clients on system upgrades, repairs, and energy-efficient solutions.
·        Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
·        Adhere to safety protocols, codes, and regulations in all work performed.
·        Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation within field service software.
Job Requirements:
·        5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
·        Strong knowledge of refrigeration, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
·        Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical and mechanical components.
·        Experience with chillers, boilers, RTUs, VRF/VRV systems, and air handling units.
·        Familiarity with HVAC controls and automation systems a plus.
·        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
·        Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and reporting job progress to office staff.
·        Maintains professionalism and upholds Scout core values at all times while interacting with customers and co-workers.
·        Ability to travel to job sites as required each day.
·        Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
·        Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
