Job Summary:
We are seeking a technically skilled and experienced Application Engineering Supervisor to lead our mounted bearings product support team. This role combines deep product knowledge with strong leadership and customer service skills to deliver high-quality technical solutions that improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
You will lead a team of Application Engineers responsible for supporting the mounted bearings product line, ensuring timely, accurate, and innovative solutions to customer challenges. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, a strong communicator, and thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers who support mounted bearings applications.
• Prioritize and delegate work to meet customer response time and project timelines.
• Identify technical gaps and support professional development and training.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Technical Support & Product Expertise
• Serve as the subject matter expert for mounted bearing applications, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Provide direct support for complex technical inquiries and customer projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development, field issues, and application needs.
• Partner with product designers to ensure accurate models, drawings, and specifications.
Customer-Focused Engineering
• Deliver timely and effective technical support via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
• Lead customer-facing initiatives such as training, installation guidance, and issue resolution.
• Develop creative, practical engineering solutions that enhance product performance or solve application challenges.
Process & Project Management
• Oversee major engineering projects, including testing, qualification, and application analysis.
• Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts related to mounted bearings.
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards, safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with product management, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the long-term direction of the mounted bearings product line.
• Support field visits, technical audits, and customer meetings as needed (15–20% travel).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing environments
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory engineering role
• Strong understanding of mounted bearing products and applications
• Experience supporting customers in industrial or OEM markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD (2D/3D) tools
• Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and critical thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Lean/Continuous Improvement experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to present in-person or virtually to individuals and small groups
• 15–20% travel required, including occasional overnight trips
