Logistics Manager
Job Description
A Shipping Logistics Manager oversees the entire shipping and logistics process, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods, managing inventory, and coordinating with various departments and external partners to optimize the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supply Chain Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and optimize the flow of goods from suppliers to customers.
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock to meet demand.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and freight forwarders.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Shipping Operations:
• Oversee the entire shipping process, from order placement to delivery.
• Track shipments and identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.
• Manage shipping documentation and paperwork.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and train shipping and logistics staff.
• Motivate and coach team members to achieve performance goals.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and customer service.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify and resolve issues related to shipping and logistics.
• Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
• Ensure that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
