The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the hotel's maintenance and engineering operations. This includes ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all equipment, systems, and facilities within the hotel. Our Maintenance Engineer plans and executes maintenance projects and ensures compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. A Maintenance Engineer needs to be capable of performing the essential job functions with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. The ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as equipment, tools, and supplies, frequently throughout the shift. This may involve bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching. Proficiency in using hand and power tools to perform maintenance tasks, such as plumbing repairs, carpentry work, and equipment troubleshooting. This requires good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The ability to move freely around the hotel property, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may need to access different areas of the hotel to perform maintenance duties. Maintenance work can be physically demanding and may require prolonged periods of activity, including walking, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive motions. Employees should have the stamina to sustain these activities for extended periods. Awareness of safety hazards and the ability to follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and using safe work practices. Good vision and hearing are essential for identifying maintenance issues, reading technical manuals and blueprints, and communicating with colleagues and supervisors. The ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs to ensure the hotel’s facilities are well-maintained. Conduct regular inspections of the property, identifying and addressing maintenance needs promptly. Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including lighting, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Maintain and operate all equipment and tools safely and effectively. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects when necessary. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies. Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment. Maintain an organized and clean maintenance workshop and storage areas. Participate in emergency response and fire safety procedures. Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and maintenance techniques. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities. Must adhere to the company's grooming, uniform, and dress code policies. Assist with varied projects as assigned.
