Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in assigned areas of the intercollegiate men's basketball program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Ability to read, analyze and interpret NCAA, SEC and institutional rules and regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, customers, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Sit and talk or hear. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but escalates to high during practice and athletic competitions.

Duties/Responsibilities
Evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes to the University of Georgia whose athletic and personal skills make them highly competitive in the SEC and nationally, and whose academic potential makes them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation at the University of Georgia; coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries.
Percentage of time 60 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist in conducting and evaluating all practice sessions for training groups as assigned.
Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach and Academic Advisors in monitoring the academic performance and general well being of student-athletes; assisting the athletes with community service projects and helping them realize and achieve full potential in each area.
Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities
Understanding and adhering to NCAA rules specifically related to recruitment and to the on-going performance of duties within an NCAA Division I basketball program.
Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with meet requirements and fund-raising events; supervising team managers.

Assist with administration as it relates to recruiting, budgets, traveling, public relations, fund-raising, camps and clinics.
