• Provides an array of out-patient mental health services, crisis management, individual and group therapeutic interventions to adults with serious mental illness, emotional disturbance /or co-morbid substance abuse disorders.
• Provides screening and clinical assessments for persons experiencing mental health, emotional disturbance and/or substance abuse issues. Works with other professionals to develop an initial plan of care and coordinates services with other community service providers.
• Documents all clinical work in accordance with SCDMH Quality Assurance standards.
• Supports the organization’s Corporate Compliance Program.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Department of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care . This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
