Senior Credit Analyst - Greenville, SC

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for the intake and processing of customer credit granting documents at the client ensuring that the policies, procedures and workflow tools are being used as designed. Provides guidance to various internal and external stakeholders about the process and information needed and assists with exceptions. Works with Credit Manager on special circumstance situations, such as the requirement of security interests to grant credit and customer bankruptcy cases, ensuring the appropriate documentation is gathered, reviewed and completed. Building relationships with key stakeholders in finance, accounting, sales and customer service to ensure the credit process is both functioning as designed and understood is an important aspect of the role. The position will assist in the evaluation of appropriate credit reporting tools/resources to support the policy. Will be expected to work closely with the Collections team in the interpretation and analysis of relative risk among accounts
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Involved in intake of credit requests and inquiries from multiple business groups.
• Evaluate the financial health of borrowers by conducting thorough analyses of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
• Assess the risk associated with extending credit and make recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
• Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment models to improve overall credit management.
• Works closely with collections function to identify customers that are over limit or show potential payment or cash flow issues, and initiate credit reviews as appropriate.
• Works closely with our 3rd party processing team to ensure compliance with process and policy and assists/reviews their SLA/KPI tracking and reporting.
• Assists Credit Manager in data gathering and reporting for annual credit reviews, presentations, and bankruptcies.
• Identifies and reports to the Credit Manager on special credit situations, including emergency orders, bankruptcies, and write-offs.
• Maintains close relations with sales, finance, customer service, IT and accounting staff through regular contact and is expected to liaise with groups in all credit related matters.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 3+ Years in a large organization (*** Million annual sales or more) commercial credit or collections function.
• 3+ Years evaluating commercial customers for credit worthiness.
• 3+ Years analyzing commercial financial statements and/or tax documents
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems and its corresponding A/R components.
• Ability to use MS Office programs at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.)
• Basic understanding of receivable securitization options: liens, LOCs, and deposits/prepayments.
• Familiarity with basic commercial bankruptcy rules and processes.
• Strong communication skills – sales and customers.
• Experience in preparing for and presenting in person or via MS Teams.
