Position Summary
Under general supervision, instructs clients and their children in a specific area of assignment as part of a program that includes an organized agenda of parenting groups.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:30PM
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards
• Conducts classes and demonstrations to instruct in principles, techniques, or methods in subjects such as parenting skills and life skills
• Assists the TCC Coordinator with various duties related to the TCC programs for the special needs of clients and their children as required.
• Assists in organizing structured therapeutic programs with the appropriate staff and participates in class activities weekly.
• Attends training, completes Relias trainings on time required.
• Adapts instructional methods and materials to meet clients varying needs, abilities, and interests
• Schedules appropriate indoor and outdoor recreational activities for clients and their children.
• Assists in the proper selection, instruction, and supervision of clients and their children in the playground area.
• Supervises the maintenance and cleaning of recreational equipment in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
• Ensures that recreational equipment is available for scheduled programs and activities when needed.
• Monitors the cleanliness, safety and security of the TCC Center according to established procedures.
• Assess student's education and adjustment needs through direct observation and testing
• Orients and educates clients on all applicable TCC Center procedures in a timely manner.
• Organizes, supervises, and manages after school activities, summer camps, and school break activities.
• Provides appropriate encouragement and instruction in attempting to maximize client participation in TCC activities. Assists clients in improving parenting and social skills, and increasing self-esteem when necessary.
• Conducts and manages the goals of teaching social and parenting skills.
• Develops and prepares program lesson plans, progress notes for children, group notes, create, develop and manage after school and school break schedules .
• Coach clients in the habits of daily living and parenting routines
• Instructs clients through discussion and demonstrations of appropriate parenting methods and techniques
• Plan and coordinates a comprehensive summer program for on-site residential children
• Deliver a program of nurturing parenting to meet individual and group needs of parents and children
Entry Qualifications
Associate's degree in area of assignment from an accredited college or university *OR* Vocational/Technical degree in area of assignment from an accredited college AND One year of experience in the area of assignment *OR* three or more years of experience in the area of assignment.
