Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is with the Department of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. The base location for this position will be the Greenwood Mental Health Clinic, with services being provided throughout the Center's catchment area.
The hire date for this position is 07/02/2025 (or later).
Working in conjunction with the SCDMH forensic team and the SCDMH legal team, the incumbent will aid law enforcement, detention centers, public defenders, solicitors, judges, and other mental health staff throughout Beckman's catchment area to deflect and divert appropriate individuals from the criminal justice system and to counteract forensic involvement, via the correct level of patient care.
Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements:
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field
Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree and professional experience in guidance, counseling or the social sciences
Must have a current and valid SC Driver's License, as in state travel will be required
Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a mental health professional in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and with concurrence by DMH Office of Quality Management.

Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in criminal justice/forensic setting is helpful.
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
