The Job
The Department of Aging and Adult Services is recruiting for Supervising Deputy Public Guardian who will supervise and evaluate the activities of Deputy Public Guardians and related support staff. Duties also include the review of recommendations for placement of conservatees and the management and liquidation of assets and expenditures.
Experience
Minimum Requirements
OPTION A: Three years experience equivalent to a Deputy Public Guardian in San Bernardino County. Equivalent experience includes arrangement for custodial care and administration of estates of gravely disabled or other incompetent persons assigned to the Public Guardian by the courts.
OPTION B: Three years lead or supervision experience over staff performing case management duties in a health or human services field.
Education: 30 semester (45 quarter) units in public/business administration or behavioral/social science. A list of completed college coursework must be submitted unless applicant possesses an associate or bachelor's degree in a qualifying area.
Substitution: Applicants with an equivalent combination of closely related education, training, and work experience may be given consideration at the discretion of Human Resources.
Conditions of Employment: Must meet continuing education/certification requirements for public guardians as established by the California Association of Public Administrators, Public Guardians, and Public Conservators or may be terminated.
