Staff Accountant
The Zaxbys Support Center is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of accounting services. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and recording transactions, balancing ledgers, and preparing financial reports and supporting schedules.

This position is based in Athens, GA area and allows for a hybrid work schedule that includes 3 in-office days per week.

Essential Job Functions
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Financial Software Management:
• Learn and maintain the Metiri franchise store financial software in conjunction with Accounting Manager
• Ensure accurate and timely collection of financial data from franchise stores as well as troubleshooting problems
• Cross Train Coop Accounting:
• Cross train on full cycle marketing coop accounting
• Communicate and collaborate with the marketing team about results on a frequent basis
• Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Compliance and Audit:
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Assist with internal and external audits as required
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Ability to work with little to modest supervision; ability to multi-task and manage time with little direction
• Intermediate knowledge in accounting principles, standard concepts, practices, procedures & systems within the accounting field; begin to apply knowledge, problem solving, streamlining processes, and enhancing work products with little guidance
• Expertise on specific areas of responsibility but also general knowledge of other areas of accounting; able to comprehend how each area flows and relies to other areas and products
• Work performed with few errors; find errors in self-review and corrects
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment and complete work confidentially
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Basic knowledge in information technology and applications
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service/relations with a strong ability to communicate with tact, patience, and courtesy
Education And Experience Guidelines
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience
