Description Assists in supervising daily operations of a recreational facility(ies) and staff; leads adults, children, and youth in various recreational activities; daily management of concessions operations; plans, organizes, and assists with programs and projects; assists with preparation and/or delivery of reports, proposals, and a variety of forms and documents; coordinating and/or assisting with media/marketing functions of the department.   Largely night and weekend hours.
Starting pay $22.1685/hr. and excellent benefits.  Provided benefits include but are not limited to, health insurance, group life insurance, wellness program, and CERS retirement through Kentucky Retirement Systems.  Paid time off includes vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
Examples of Duties Per assignment, professional position responsible for:
• leading adults, children, and youth in various recreational activities.
• daily management of concessions operations.
• assisting with preparation and/or delivery of reports, proposals, and a variety of forms and documents.
• daily management of facility(ies) and staff.
• planning, organizing, assisting with programs and projects.
• coordinating and /or assisting with media/marketing funtions of the department
Typical Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS :
• Associates Degree or 2 years college in Recreation, Education, Social Sciences, or similar field, or
• Minimum 2 yrs. experience in government parks and recreation or other recreational business/organization.
• Equivalent amount of education and/or experience is acceptable.
• Valid driver's license is required.
Adult and child CPR/First Aid certification required immediately after hire.
Food Protection Manager Certificate required within 30 days of hire.
Preferred , but not required : • Supervisory experience;
• Experience working in a recreational setting with children, teenagers, and adults.
