Utility Administrative Assistant
Location: Sarasota, FL
Pay Rate: $19.00/hr
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Job Duration: Through 9/30/25
Our client is seeking a Utility Administrative Assistant to support customer service and administrative functions. This temporary position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a government setting while contributing to essential utility operations.
Responsibilities:
•
Coordinate the annual record retention and archival process for utility customer service records
•
Respond to inquiries regarding utility services, connections, billing, and loan installment programs
•
Review and analyze billing records, invoices, and work orders to identify discrepancies or errors
•
Assist with document management, data entry, and maintaining billing records
•
Utilize various software, including Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, NaviLine, GIS, and Accela
•
Research property and utility records to support customer service staff
•
Provide backup support for customer service, metering, and billing teams as needed
•
Assist in work order processing and resolve issues related to incomplete orders
Qualifications:
•
Previous experience in administrative support, customer service, or a related field
•
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and database management systems
•
Ability to analyze billing data and resolve discrepancies
•
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
