Description: Summer Camp Assistant Counselor POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Counselor is responsible for supporting Lead Counselors in creating a safe, structured, and fun camp experience. This position helps with transitions, assists in managing group activities, and ensures a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all campers. The Assistant Counselor plays a vital role in engaging with children while upholding safety and behavioral expectations. This is a part-time seasonal position with the following split shifts available: 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM Monday-Friday 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM Monday-Friday 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM Monday-Friday 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM Monday-Friday PAY RATE $11 - $13 per hour (Based on experience and credentials) Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Actively engages with children throughout the day and assists in facilitating games, lessons, and activities. Helps implement daily programs that are age-appropriate and aligned with camp values. Ensures the safety and cleanliness of activity spaces and common areas. Assists with set-up and clean-up of activities. Follows all safety policies and procedures, including child abuse prevention and emergency response plans. Supports behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful camp environment. Assists in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 16 years old. Previous experience working with children in camps, schools, or recreational settings preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required within 30 days of hire.
