JOB SUMMARY Quality Built, LLC Engineering Services is currently looking for driven, confident and hardworking team members to fill the position of Licensed Building Inspector . In this role, you will conduct inspections of 1 and 2 Family Dwelling inspections. The work involves reviewing building plans and other documents; the interpretation and application of codes and regulations; and performing visual inspections, required by law for each phase of construction to determine compliance with applicable codes. Additionally, the Inspector is responsible for documenting observed conditions and completing inspection reports. Prospective applicants must be able to read blueprints, understand construction methods, be self-driven, be able to work independently, be able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and produce accurate results while meeting deadlines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Inspects 1 and 2 Family Dwelling and systems for compliance with the Florida Residential Building Code and all other related regulations as required Recognizes, evaluates, and properly resolves unique problems or situations Meets with contractors and other interested parties to discuss technical code issues which arise Coordinate with Project Coordinator team to update inspection status and for timely completion; and inform Project Coordinator team and clients of pass/fail inspection results Prepare and maintain all required records and reports Work with Project Coordinator team and clients to establish daily inspection schedules based on inspection types, locality, and priority Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with municipal Building Departments, clients and other project stakeholders Escalate client concerns to immediate supervisor for prompt resolution KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Detail oriented Ability to describe in detail observations made at a job site Good understanding of construction materials and methods including building framing, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems Strong interpersonal skills Clear and effective oral and written communication skills Good time-management and organizational skills Professional and team orientated Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Physical Requirements This job requires lifting to 50 pounds. Whenever possible and when needed to prevent injury, the employee should ask for assistance in lifting more than 50 pounds and may request assistance in lifting at any time. Overtime may be required from time to time by your supervisor, an executive, or at your request in order to accomplish work objectives.
