Sales Application Engineer
We are seeking an exceptional Sales Application Engineer with vision, ingenuity, and experience to support our growing sales team. Tasks include application engineering, customer service, and sales. Applicants must have strong skills in communication, technical problem-solving, and customer service. Much of our work consists of using our engineering expertise to apply highly specialized equipment to customer processes, optimizing their process in terms of cost, quality and productivity.
This is a great opportunity to learn about sales and industrial process automation. Sales Application Engineers receive extensive training in sales and process automation equipment and learn about a wide range of customer processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to inbound customer calls for sales, service, and support.
• Work with customers to select and quote standard instrumentation and control panels and wire harnesses.
• Technical Expertise:
• Understand the company’s product portfolio and how it meets our customers’ needs.
• Assist customers and Inside sales with technical questions.
• Assist with prospecting and other activities related to obtaining sales goals.
• Gather customer requirements and create detailed hardware and software statements of work.
• Offer voice of customer on future design and development of products.
• Test products on the equipment or application at Tulsa facility or at customer location and create a detailed test report.
• Develop and test custom engine/application integration via PowerVision configuration programming - training will be provided.
• Support our customers in the field with troubleshooting and programming questions.
• Travel to select meetings for sales and support including, but not limited to customer sites, sales meetings and product training meetings.
• Travel to customer plant locations for startup and service work.
• Effectively communicate with customers using digital media such as Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn and phone calls
• Conduct in-person meetings to evaluate, solve applications, and/or present solutions.
Requirements
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in Technical Sales.
• Successful track record of sales and customer interface in the technical marketplace.
• 35%+ travel required within the United States.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of Technical Sales function.
• Must have a good understanding of diesel engines and their applications such as pumps, power units etc.
• Must have a good understanding of different tier levels of diesel engines.
• Must be able to gather customer requirements and create detailed hardware and software statements of work.
• Must have a sound understanding of principles and concepts in Sales & Marketing and a basic understanding of other functional areas.
• Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Computer and Microsoft Office software experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)
• AutoCAD or similar software experience would be helpful.
• Minimum of one year Technical Application, preferred.
• Control logic/PLC programming experience, preferred.
• Good understanding of wire harnesses and control panel design and development, preferred.
• Hands-on experience working on engines and equipment, preferred.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
