HVAC Surveyor
Job Summary
• The HVAC Surveyor supports the sales team with technical information once a lead is generated and a survey of existing conditions is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• While the Surveyor does not have supervisory responsibilities, they are often required to work cross functionally to accomplish their tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Once assigned a work order, schedules a site visit to gather all required information to properly complete a material list, project folder and a full detailed estimate of work to be performed. This must be completed per the assigned schedule.
• Creates detailed proposal booklets with pictures of each system and the recommended upgrades for the individual owners.
• Researches and gathers pricing for the mew system components and upgrades.
• Reviews scope and pricing information with estimator to develop a detailed and specific price for the different options and produce a "shopping list" type of proposal.
• Once a proposal is accepted, generates a materialist, schedule, and job folder for operations, sets up a meeting with the customer and operations manager to determine schedule and review scope of work to be performed. Assists operations with material information and customer relations throughout the project.
• Gathers Roof Check inspection reports from Roof Surveyors in order to get leads for potential HVAC work.
• Cold calls associations, property managers, and facility mangers in the area of survey buildings.
• Develops and maintains relationships with current purchasing contacts.
• Maintain survey and sales log weekly.
• Discusses heating or cooling system malfunctions with customers to isolate problems, to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions, or to arrange follow-on service.
• Investigates and resolves customer issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, to gather and analyze information skillfully, and to develop alternative solutions.
• Ability to develop and plan strategies for coordination on projects, communication during projects, and timely completion of projects.
• Able to use contract management systems, internet software, dispatch and scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.
• Skillful in interpersonal communications and develops working relationships effectively.
• Demonstrates use of networking to develop leads and generate business.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Good customer service skills.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year institution and five years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, loading, unloading and carrying materials.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 40 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be familiar with tag-out requirements and electrical safety precautions.
