Alternate Job Title: Pump Truck Driver/Operator
Job Summary: The Sanitation Driver/Pump Truck Driver/Operator operates the pump truck on pre-determined routes, controlling the truck's pump or similar equipment to collect waste from portable sanitation units and deposit their contents into the truck.
Job Classification: Full-time & Part-time; non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Location: Myakka, FL

Responsibilities
• Operates pump truck on a pre-determined route; safely controls the pump as required to collect receptacles and deposit their contents in the truck.
• Performs and documents pre-operation safety checks on vehicle prior to embarking on route.
• Refuels truck and performs basic maintenance.
• Facilitates proper maintenance and mechanical service on truck by appropriate mechanics.
• Transports waste to the proper location for processing and/or disposal.
• Notifies dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues and documenting the same.
• Maintains logs of pickup times, daily mileage, and dump logs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License or similar classification to operate a pump truck required.
• 3 years of required commercial driving experience, 5 years preferred
• Ability to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be located in the Southwest Florida Area
