Accountant I
Job Description
As a Landmark Properties Accountant, you are responsible for acting as the liaison between properties, corporate employees, external owners and other third parties to ensure property financials are accurate. Every day you will audit income statements and balance sheets for accuracy, create & post journal entries to record financial data, and reconcile bank accounts against data in Property Management Software. To thrive in this role, you must communicate effectively, prioritize deadlines, be detailed oriented and organized.

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Accountant I’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.
• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Complete financial month end close for your assigned entities.
• Assist with investment transactions with respect to accounting, general taxation, REIT compliance, and reporting.
• Enters cash receipts and deposits daily to the general ledger accounts.
• Answer inquiries from ownership groups, investors, internal corporate departments, and property employees.
• Review invoices daily for accuracy and answer vendor inquiries as needed.
• Analyze, reconcile, and maintain banking records for accuracy.
• Reconcile employee credit cards.
• Assist with the budget process including the preparation of preliminary budgets.
• Work with 3rd party audit & tax firms to prepare annual reports for properties.
Education & Experience
• 4-Year Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Property management knowledge including experience using Entrata (Property Management software) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to read and understand income statements and balance sheets.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas orally and written so others will understand.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
