Sales Director - Construction
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead and grow the sales function for our home building company, managing a team of 12 staff members and overseeing sales operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in home sales, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive business growth through strategic sales management, team development, and customer relationship building.
Key Responsibilities :
Sales Leadership & Strategy :
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales goals and KPIs for the company’s custom home neighborhoods.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales professionals to optimize performance and achieve sales targets.
• Create and maintain effective sales processes and tracking mechanisms to monitor team performance, forecasting, and pipeline management.
Customer Relationship Management :
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing customers, ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the home-buying process.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, communicating the company’s vision and value proposition to clients and industry partners.
Sales Operations & Reporting :
• Oversee all sales activities within the neighborhoods, ensuring each project is effectively managed and sales progress is consistently tracked.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to adjust sales tactics and strategies as needed.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions.
Team Development :
• Recruit, onboard, and train new sales team members, fostering a positive and high-performance sales culture.
• Implement ongoing training and development programs to ensure the sales team is equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed.
Collaboration with Marketing & Design :
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop community-specific sales campaigns, promotions, and events that drive traffic and interest.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure accurate and updated product information is available for clients and sales teams.
Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• Sales leadership experience in the construction industry.
• Proven success in leading sales teams to exceed targets in a competitive market.
• Strong knowledge of the custom home building process, residential construction, and market trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing multi-community sales operations
