Food & Beverage Manager
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Culinary & Dining Services, the Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for all aspects of floor management, including food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and Village on the Isle initiatives. In addition, the Food & beverage Manager cultivates a team environment that provides exceptional resident service while ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level. The Food & Beverage Manager also motivates employees, instills accountability, and achieves results to drive success in the position. The Food & Beverage Manager respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Functions

• Responsible for overall management of dining room operations. Plans, develops, and has oversight of day-to-day which includes scheduling, supervising, and participating in the operational duties required.
• Schedules daily work assignments for all dining room personnel, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
• Recruits, supervises, trains, schedules, disciplines, reviews, and directs the dining room staff as well as onboarding new employees and payroll duties.
• Responds to residents inquiries and resolves residents complaints as necessary.
• Maintains and ensures safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of dining room area, wait stations, food production and handling, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene and escalates as necessary to Director of Dining and Culinary Services.
• Always represents Village on the Isle in a professional and positive manner. Maintains and enhances VOTIs image when interacting with residents, guests, staff, and vendors.
• Performs opening and/or closing management procedures.
• Plans and executes Catering/Special events at a high level while adhering to financial expectations while working closely with Activities Department to execute resident events.
• Maintains accuracy of POS system which include menu items, pricing and resident preferences and distributes rotational menu, cycle menus and periodic inventories.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Essential Mental And Physical Functions
The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand for the entire work day and to climb steps regularly.
• Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.
• Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
• Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of residents and staff and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications
• A.S/A.S. degree in Hospitality or related field or a minimum of 7-10 years experience and/or relevant certifications required.
• Diverse background in hospitality leadership with experience in a CCRC or similar retirement community setting preferred.
• Catering and event management experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with budgetary and financial management required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in leadership with a proven ability to lead a team composed of a varied range of skills, personalities, and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong customer service skills and proactively looks for ways to improve the residents and coworkers experience.
