Human Resource Generalist
Job Description
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist.
Department: Operations.
Reports to : Chief Operations Officer.
Salary: $45,000.
Hours: 40 hours.
Status: Full time, not exempt.
Summary Of Duties
• An HR generalist is a multifaceted human resources professional responsible for managing various aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefit management, employee relations, policy enforcement, ensuring compliance with labor laws, all while fostering a positive work environment within our organization.
• They act as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR related inquiries and concerns.
Reporting Relationship
• The HR generalist will work under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and administration.
Responsibilities
• Recruitment and Hiring: job postings, scheduling interviews, reference checks and managing the hiring process.
• Onboarding: Welcoming new employees, providing necessary orientation paperwork, setting new employees up in Train Florida, payroll and providing email addresses.
• Ensure that all mandatory training is completed within the first 5 days of hire.
• Uploading employee records into the payroll system electronically.
• Scheduling external training such as med courses, med pours and CPR.
• Supervise the greeters.
• Complete timesheets for your direct reports and yourself.
• Employee Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans and HSA accounts.
• Performance management: Ensuring that managers are provided with the annual evaluation packets, ensure all employees annual evals are turned in on time and reviewed prior to the President/CEO signs off.
• Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts and investigating employee complaints.
• Policy Enforcement: Updating policies and job descriptions as needed, ensuring that all employees adhere to the organization's policies and procedures.
• Training and Development: identify training needs, coordinate training and facilitate employee development.
• Compliance Management: Stay updated with all annual compliance documents and posters, distribute annual Labor posters to all locations. Ensure all Labor Laws are being implemented for compliance.
• Monthly supply order.
• Opening mail/accepting deliveries and delivering mail and deliveries to the appropriate parties.
• Attend and transcribe board meetings one time monthly.
Extraordinary Work Conditions
• Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• May be required to attend job fairs and work flexible hours.
Experience/Education
• Preferred associates degree and one year of verifiable experience in Human Resources or in a similar role.
• One year of experience is equivalent to one year of education.

• Excellent communication skills: Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels including administration, visitors and Board members.
• Interpersonal Skills: Building rapport, resolving conflicts, fostering positive relationships.
• Problem solving abilities: Analyzing situations, identifying solutions and addressing employee concerns.
• Knowledge of employment laws: Staying updated on relevant labor laws and regulations.
• Supervision: Provide greeters with guidance and feedback as necessary. Ensure the greeters are busy, that they are on time for their shifts and that their timesheets are processed bi-monthly.
• Organizational skills: Managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
• Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy with data entry and record keeping.
Certificates/Licenses And Registrations
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license.
Computer Skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Word for development of reports, memos, letters etc.
• This job will require access to other computer systems such as personnel and payroll systems.
Physical Demands
• Must have the ability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, carry up to 25 lbs, bend, crouch and kneel.
Training Requirements
• Must complete all mandatory agency training within the initial agency orientation period.
• Attend Additional hours of Agency approved training related to your job responsibilities.
