Job Description/Responsibilities
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects and reliability related activities for assigned areas of the facility to ensure consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Applies engineering principles to improve performance, productivity, and quality. Provides technical or lead support to Sazerac network of plants for necessary projects.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution (time and budget), control and completion of specific projects and reliability related activities for assigned projects within the Sazerac network. Lead or advise the planning and implementation of Project Plans. Identifies and implements reliability and improvement projects in designated plants. Participate in equipment overhauls, troubleshooting and turnarounds as required.  Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.  Provides support as a technical resource to plants within the Sazerac network.
• Provide direction and support to project team. Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs. Perform project evaluations and assessment of results. Utilize existing project management processes and update / create processes, best practices, and standards where applicable.
• Manage costs and timelines. Monitor and control project deliverables. Identify external supplies required and develop procurement plan.  Track and monitor procurement. Create and manage project financials, detailed budgets, updated forecasts, cash flow projections, and cash flow actuals. Initiate and track vendor payments. Interface with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to ensure accurate and timely payment.
• Perform job in a responsible manner and in compliance with Company procedures and applicable rules and regulations.
• Create and develop a personal development plan with Manager to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Identify and manage risks and safety aspects of the project. Ensure all contractors / employees involved on work in progress are following safe work practices. Review equipment specifications and ensure installation meets safety standards.
• Performs or assigns construction project management duties. Prepares cost estimates. Prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets. Conducts field inspections as required. Monitors work in progress. Writes, approves, negotiates, and executes contract changes. Authorize contract payments upon project completion. Define quality expectations and targets. Identify techniques for quality control and develop quality plan. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies and Practices. Technical advisor for projects within the Sazerac network.
• Develop communication strategy with stakeholders and establish communication plan. Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders. Facilitate critical risks, activities, submittals, and project open items. Function as a technical support resource regarding equipment standards, specifications, and best practices within the Sazerac network.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Plan and schedule timelines, track KPIs, and escalate issues. Recommend adjustments to scope, timelines, budget, and resources. Lead problem-solving and risk management efforts. Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, plant leadership, project owners, and vendors. Coordinate project staff and manage contract staff, ensuring proper work assignment, evaluation, and expenditure management. Oversee consultants and their associated costs throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications/Requirements
MUST • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
• Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience
• implementation or project management experience.
• Strong planning and organizational skills
PREFERRED • Master's degree in related field
• Certification/Qualification in Project Management
• 1 year implementation or project management experience.
• 5 years progressive experience in plant operations/maintenance (minimum)
Physical Requirements • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to travel (up to 25%)
• Ability to work overtime if necessary
• Ability to work 8 hour shift
• In-person job attendance
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment)
