Custodial Supervisor Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college, located in Owensboro, KY, with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, invites applications for a Full-time Custodial Supervisor to join our community. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the operation and supervision of the custodians and custodial services at Kentucky Wesleyan College. This role is on-site and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Major Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate activities of the custodial staff, while adhering to established standards, procedures, and scheduled timeframes. Train, evaluate, and provide feedback to custodial staff that promotes professional development and maintains high performance, including but not limited to: Performs daily quality control inspections and monitors custodian work performance. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and college safety and security policies and procedures. Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needed to plan accordingly for activities and projects. Strong leadership skills to professionally and appropriately supervise custodial staff and resolve personnel concerns, issues, etc. Work on special projects and events, as required. Respond to emergencies, as required and directed. Able to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes. 100% on site availability and attendance Assumes other duties, as assigned by the Department Manager. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to delegate and supervise custodial staff and projects to meet deadlines and regulation requirements. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, including occasional nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed. Good computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new programs, as needed Possess a valid drivers license with insurability under the College’s insurance policy. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor activities, over a period of time: o Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, twist, reach, grasp small or large objects. o Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry at least 20 pounds regularly. o Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally. o Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments. o Working knowledge of hand tools Compensation and Benefits This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including the following: Insurance – health, dental, vision, supplemental Life insurance at no cost to the employee Paid time off –21 days per year Paid holidays - 20 days per year Retirement plan Free tuition at KWC after one year plus tuition arrangements with hundreds of other colleges and universities The Custodial Supervisor position is an exempt position paid on a salary basis.
