General Description: The Network Administrator is a vital member of our Infrastructure team responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement best practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance, availability, and security using monitoring tools and respond to incidents promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions. Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring optimal performance and security. Incident Management: Investigate and resolve network incidents and outages, collaborating with internal teams and vendors as needed. Document incident details, resolutions, and preventive measures. Security Enhancement: Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls, and security patches, to safeguard against cyber threats. Network Upgrades: Plan and execute network hardware and software upgrades in coordination with relevant teams, ensuring minimal impact on operations. User Support: Provide technical support to end users experiencing network-related issues, offering guidance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures to facilitate effective troubleshooting and future enhancements. Capacity Planning: Monitor network traffic trends and forecast future capacity requirements, proposing necessary upgrades to accommodate business growth. Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure smooth integration of new technologies and solutions into the existing network environment. Performance Analysis: Analyze network performance data to identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement. Perform other duties as required. Education and / or Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred and 4+ years in a similar role. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Minimum 5+ years’ work experience & minimum of 4+ years in a similar role. Strong understanding of networking concepts, OSI layers, Layer 2 and 3 (switching and routing) protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc. Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. Experience with firewall administration, access controls, and security protocols. Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud networking, and SDN concepts. Telephony experience preferred. Must be a team player. Strong oral / written communication skills, and able to deal effectively with personnel from all levels of organization. Willing to be a self-motivator / self-learner. Be able to take ownership of task and drive to resolution. Licenses and / or Certifications: Not required, although IT certifications and / or licenses are desired. CCNA Certifications preferred.
