Our Pompano Trailhead Park has an opportunity for a Business Operations Specialist, capable of exercising independent judgment and who possesses strong technical and administrative skills. About the Position
This position requires advanced customer service, and verbal and written communication skills, and consists of highly responsible financial and technical work. If selected you will be responsible for processing facility reservations and registrations, and interpreting policy and procedures for the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources (PRNR) Department. For more information, see below...
Customer Service:
• Assist phone, walk-in, and internet customers with registrations, reservations, and special events; issuing facility reservation permits per policy.
• Resolve scheduling issues.
• Provide information about all services, programs, activities, and facilities.
• Compose routine correspondence regarding customer accounts and information.
• Communicate with staff in the field regarding the use of facilities; coordinate the use of park space and athletic fields with staff to ensure clean, safe parks.
• Obtain appropriate documents and process payments per policies and procedures.
• Assist others by determining or interpreting work procedures, maintaining harmonious relations, and promoting efficiency.
• Develop and improve routine work processes.
• Assist Division staff by providing customer service, set up, on-site management, and clean-up of events.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule.
Technology, reporting, and cash handling functions :
• Utilize technology in the performance of daily duties to answer calls and to issue, track, and receive funds.
• Assign user door entry and light pin codes in accordance with reservation requests.
• Research/analyze and provide status information utilizing household accounts and reporting functionality in RecTrac.
• Prepare and distribute reports and data.
• Serves as a “Super User” and helps train other staff with RecTrac or helps resolve other system issues.
• Process payments and issue permits and receipts for activity registrations and facility reservations, perform necessary data entry and updates, balance the cash drawer, and generate daily reports.
• Assist with management of accounts payables, refund returned insufficient funds and uncollectable debt.
• Follow all county and department procedures, guidelines, and/or policies.
Administrative functions :
• Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as preparing mailing, assisting with reports, filing, and recordkeeping.
• Make copies/scan documents.
• Order supplies and monitor office machinery to ensure it works correctly.
• Ensure accurate information is distributed to the public.
• Maintain an organized workspace.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
• Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
• Typically works Monday - Friday, however, evenings, weekends, and/or holiday hours may be required .
• Please note weekly work hours will vary.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent education -AND- Two (2) to five (5) years of Clerical, Secretarial, and Computer experience.
• -OR- One year of college coursework in Business from an accredited College or University may substitute for One year of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of parks and recreation operations and RecTrac or other recreational software.
• Related Professional Certification.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move 25 lbs.

Starting Pay Range: $21.85 - $24.00, based on experience.
