Key Responsibilities
As an Credentialed Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
• Provide friendly, quality care to clients and patients
• Discharge patients from the clinic
• Fill prescriptions and draw blood
• Obtain vitals and assist in inducing and maintaining sedation or anesthesia
• Place and maintain IV catheters
• Administer medications
• Assist with surgical procedures and emergency services (CPR, catheterization, intubation, drug administration)
• Recognize and report pain, distress, or other patient concerns
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician/Nurse (CVT, LVT, or RVT required and must be eligible to be licensed in Florida)
• Associate's Degree or higher
• Prior experience in Emergency and/or Urgent Care preferred
Skills
• Effective communication with clients and staff
• Ability to safely lift objects or pets of at least 50lbs
• Work with or without direct supervision
• Restrain and control cats and dogs of any temperament
• Recognize concerning behaviors in pets
• Make conversions and calculations
• Adapt to different needs and preferences of doctors
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of hospital procedures and operating instructions
Compensation And Benefits
• Salary: $26 - $28/hour (commensurate with experience)
• Day or night shifts available
• Sign-on bonus up to $2,000
