Primary Responsibilities: As a Commercial Drywall Estimator , you will be responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, preparing accurate proposals, and managing the estimation process for drywall projects. Your expertise will guide the pre-construction team in achieving the best possible outcomes for each project. Bid Proposals: Interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate, competitive bids for drywall projects. Create written proposals, incorporating all project requirements, scope of work, and cost estimates. Material & Labor Costs: Maintain an understanding of local labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure accurate estimates. Keep up-to-date with cost trends and market conditions. Code Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with local, city, and state building codes for each assigned location. Team Management: Manage and mentor project engineers and assistant estimators, providing support and guidance to help them develop professionally. Product Knowledge: Continuously improve and expand your knowledge of all product lines, including drywall, acoustical systems, doors/frames/hardware (Div 8), and specialties (Div 10). Collaborate with Pre-Construction Teams: Work closely with other members of the pre-construction team, including project managers, to ensure smooth project handover and accurate budgeting. Education & Experience: Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting is preferred. Experience: 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Estimator, or 5-7 years of overall relevant experience. Previous experience in commercial drywall estimation is highly preferred. Bonus Skills: Experience with construction management software, such as BuilderTrend or Procore, is a plus. Success Factors: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exceed expectations. Self-motivated, with a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex project documents. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. A commitment to maintaining high professional standards and ethical practices.
