Position: Intake & Admissions Coordinator Summary: This position will provide the first impression to professional contacts, community members, and potential patients. This includes identifying potential patients to receive care and coordination of the in-person assessment process at the facility. This role is responsible for community outreach via inbound and outbound calls. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Utilizes multi-line phones, faxes, and computer software to triage patients or referral sources seeking treatment. Receive and screen incoming calls to determine potential services available. Complete call inquiry forms to identify patients’ mental health and/or substance abuse needs, as well as schedule patients to come in for an in-person assessment. Coordination of care between patients, referral sources, family members, and hospital staff. Verify eligibility for benefits with various insurance carriers. Perform other functions as assigned by the Director of Intake and Admissions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory or managerial responsibilities. COMPETENCIES : Proficient in computer skills. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to demonstrate effective listening and engagement skills. Able to perform tasks independently as well as foster a team environment. Work in a fast-paced setting with a good attitude. Excellent customer service skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some standing, lifting, bending and stooping is required. TRAVEL: This position requires no travel. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or high school equivalency (GED) required. Bachelor's degree preferred Must be minimum of 21 years old. Must obtain and maintain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Behavioral Management training required prior to patient interaction. One year of behavioral health work experience.
