QA Technician
Purpose
The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for all activities associated with the Quality functions for molding and mounting.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect setup or first production piece as instructed to approve new machine setups for both injection molded parts and mounted parts.
• Inspect experimental or unique "model shop" items for conformity to blueprint and/or engineering requirements.
• Perform Sample Approval inspections on molding and mounting output of complex characteristics to control product conformity to specifications.
• Report all inspections on appropriate forms or computer as required. Inform supervision of all abnormal situations.
• Clean and maintain work areas, machines, auxiliary equipment and common ground in cell/area utilizing appropriate equipment, so as to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Attend and participate in quality-related training activities and department meetings as provided by management to maintain or update skills necessary for proficient job performance.

Qualification
Required Education And Experience
• H.S. Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in a precision tooling or mold shop environment
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Perform mathematical calculations requiring addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averaging, and conversion (fraction to decimal, ft/min to ft/sec, etc.).
• Oral and written comprehension and understanding of technical documents including but not limited to test requests, blueprints, Engineering process specifications and written work instructions.
• Familiarity with machining operations/techniques required to produce precision mold/machined components (surface grinding, milling, EDM, etc.)
• Familiarity with statistical methods are preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of shop mathematics, and familiarity with precision shop QA methods.
• Ability to read 2D/3D mechanical blueprint drawings and have good mechanical ability
• Solid computer skills and Microsoft Office
